Post Mastectomy Fittings

Life after a mastectomy or any breast surgery can be life-changing, but Natasha and her team at Verge of Wellness strive to provide women with a comfortable and dignified fitting after their surgery. We provide a wide range of mastectomy, or “pocketed bras,” in-store and online (shop here). We also stock a quantity of foam, silicone, and breast prosthesis in store.

Please note that we only have a selection of these products available on our website, so please reach out to us so that we can order any Amoena products in-store for you.

Our Mastectomy Fitting Process:

Typically, once you have met with your surgeon at your post-operative follow-up appointment, often at 6-8 weeks, they may let you know that you can go ahead with a fitting for a proper breast prosthesis. At this time, we recommend that you call or book an appointment with one of our Certified Amoena Fitters for your initial fitting.

We will make every effort to support you emotionally and to get you into a comfortable bra and suitable breast prosthesis to restore your body's natural silhouette.

While we do have a large amount of these products in stock, we do frequent ordering with Amoena to provide you with what you need.

Did you know? Our Amoena bras can be worn by any woman, not just those who have had breast surgery. Our bras are high quality and supportive for everyone,  and we provide complimentary bra fittings in-store for anyone who would like to purchase bras from our store.

Mastectomy Fitting Questions

How long does the fitting take?

The initial fitting often takes approximately one hour. We have a private fitting room and can provide one-on-one fittings with our trained staff on an appointment basis.

Is there anything I need to bring to my appointment?

While we do not require a prescription for you to purchase mastectomy products from our store, most insurance companies will require a prescription from your doctor for coverage. We recommend that you check with your insurance company (if you have coverage) to determine what mastectomy products you are entitled to for coverage each year.

We do not provide direct billing to insurance companies, however we will provide you with any information and proper invoicing for you to submit your claim on your own.

Many people also like to bring a loved one with them to their appointment, and we are happy to include them in the process.
